UNPAS strongly condemns the deliberate targeting of civilians during conflicts', We reiterate the urgent call for immediate ceasefires, unrestricted humanitarian access and protection of civilians all over the world.
The promotion of human rights and democratic principles is at the heart of UNPAS foreign policy. This policy is also implemented both in international forums such as the UN, the OSCE and the Council of Europe, and at most country levels
We condemn attacks adding up to horrific series of International Humanitarian Law and human rights violations, atrocities, ethnic violence, combined with serious allegations of use of starvation and sexual violence as weapons of conflict.
This is not justifiable in any terms and goes against International Humanitarian Law. Those atrocities cannot be justified by using the preservation of government integrity as an argument.
Such practice constitutes a grave violation of the Geneva Convention and of International Humanitarian Law. UNPAS re-iterate the urgent call for an immediate and for unrestricted humanitarian access to all those affected by conflicts in regions of the world.
What is happening in the world is appalling. It is time for the international community to wake up and take action. We urge the representatives in the UN and EU to put this on the agenda of all Foreign Affairs Council meetings to discuss with other Member States actions in response.
